Hi friends, today I got a chance to play with one of the items that has been on my wish list for a long time – the Altenew Beautiful Peony stamp and die set.
To start with, I used Canson watercolor paper and misted it with some clear water. Next I squished distress and distress oxide inks on a piece of packaging plastic material and then used the plastic to add that color to the damp-wet watercolor paper.
For pink flowers, I used Worn Lipstick and Festive Berries Distress Oxide Inks
For yellow – Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide ink
For the leaf – Bundled Sage distress ink
Once all color areas were dry completely, I stamped my images on top using my trusted MISTI and then die cut them out. I also punched out some flowers using an older flower punch and die cut the word “thankful” from some gold mirrored cardstock. This delicate die is from Simon Says Stamp and I have used it so many times.
Instead of creating a card, I used a 5×7 canvas panel as the base for my florals. I added a glossy, striped b&w patterned paper on top. Then I added my floral clusters + the sentiment and also some gems. For the flower centers on punched flowers, I added some small black sequins with a dot of Walnut Stain stickles and called this project done.
I might eventually make a couple holes at the top and allow the recipient to hang it on a wall. Let’s see.
