Hello and welcome to 11th post in the #vsbackgroundcheck series. Today’s idea is to use textured cardstock for the card base. This one here came from one of Hero Arts’ card kits. But I will try and link to similar ones below. The subtle texture on this card stock does wonders to the focal point cluster.
Honestly speaking, I worked on the focal point on this card because the background was a simple one – I just used the texture on my card base to the advantage of this design.
For the focal point, I started by cutting and rounding corners of a rectangle from patterned papers. There was a sheet with 6 rectangles each having an empty list of some sort. I used the one that said “my favorite things” – again keeping with the theme of “you and tea are my favorite things” :-)
I die cut the beautiful large word ‘you’ using SSS die using another patterned papers and stamped the words ‘& tea’ using Hero Arts pink ink. I also cut out two more strips of sentiments from the patterned paper pack and gave them banner tails. Next I played with all the little shaped sprinkles and created a fun cluster for my focal point. I adhered the panel directly on my card base along with the two sentiment strips. To finish off, I added a couple enamel dots and called it done.
