Card idea using Dec 2019 Large die of the Month from Spellbinders

Hi friends, happy Monday! Over the weekend I played with the Large Die of the month kit for this month from Spellbinders. It’s amazing, with so many possibilities. I managed to make a couple cards out of which one I will share today. But do keep an eye on this space, because there’s definitely more where that came from ;-)

So, here’s my today’s card. I am again gravitating towards blue-gold-white:

I am sure you have seen several examples where the border (outermost gold border in my case here) is layered on top of the petal-row-design (my blue border). But I decided to switch things up a bit and layer them other way around – the border is layered behind the petal and peeks out.

To accentuate the delicate petals in the border, I offset-adhered the negative pieces from gold border die cut. Yes, I added them piece by piece from the backside. Finally adhered the blue-gold on top of a white cardbase (from card kit) and added sentiment (using alphabet stickers from card kit) and sparkly blue gems to finish it off. Here’s a closeup:

Since this kit comes with 3 designs, each of which has two layers and two separate front and back border dies, I think the possibilities with this kit are oh so many. You will definitely see this set make an appearance on my blog again.
