Card using SSS Forget Me Not trio and a Giveaway!

Hello friends, it is day 7 of the Stamptember / Coloring challenge / 30-day-inspiration marathon here at VaradaSharma.com. I hope you are having fun and are participating in the giveaway.

Celebrate card with SSS Forget Me Not Trio - 1

Today’s card uses one of my favorite sets from Simon Says Stamp – the Forget Me Not trio. This has a stamp set, a matching die set and also another set of dies that coordinate perfectly. I am a big fan of the delicate leaves.

For this card’s color scheme, I was inspired by this pin from Pinterest:

To start, I blended these three Hero Arts inks onto a stitched rectangle panel

I used all Hero Arts inks – Light Teal, Bubble Gum, Orchid (I think). These cubes came in My Monthly Hero kits and they don’t have any names on the cube itself. I went back and checked the blog posts about these kits to figure out what the colors were. I hope I am right (please let me know if I am not). :-)

To start with this project, I blended inks on a stitched rectangle panel. I wanted to add more interest to background than just ink blending. So I created a visual triangle by doing tone-on-tone stamping. I stamped the leaves with teal ink on the side where teal color was ink blended and stamped the outline of flowers using orchid ink on the side where bubble gum and orchid were ink blended.

I also used a tiny splatter stamp from Simon Says Stamp Birthday Bits to add some gold highlights using the Tsukineko Galaxy Gold.

For the focal point, I stamped a flower using two solid layers and die cut it out. I also die cut the leaves from some shiny teal paper I had in my stash and a tiny

For the sentiment, I stamped and heat embossed the word “Celebrate” from SSS Floral Bliss stamp set, using Hero Arts ultra fine gold embossing powder.

Finally I assembled the card and added some iridescent sequins on top and mounted it on top of a black card base.

I absolutely love how this turned out. Hope you give some of these ideas a try.
