Colors of Life Challenge Inspiration by Maura

Hello everyone!!!  Maura here, and I am happy to share with you a card that I made using Varada’s most recent March release.  The particular image I used is called, “Pretty Little Tulips”.  Since rich and bold colors are the “colors of my heart, and of my life”,  I think this card fits the Challenge!! This is yet another fabulous release, you definitely need to go check it out!!!

You can find this card and all my other creations at @mauramccro ! Please come visit!

I love the look of ink blending on colored card stock and that is a technique I am using with this card. I think the variation of color and the richness is so eye-catching!!

Key Ingredients:

Steps:

  1. Print out the tulip cluster 6 times

  2. Color with copic markers and fussy cut (it goes faster than you think – I like to listen to music or an audio book)

  3. Blend shades of purple inks on light purple cs

  4. Splatter card stock with water/blot, and then splatter acrylic white paint

  5. Cut a diagonal white strip of cs as shown

  6. Score lines across top and bottom of white strip

  7. Die cut Mothers Day from purple glitter cs

  8. Adhere strip to panel, tucking the flower clusters under the edges as shown

  9. Stamp a small “happy” on the strip and adhere the “Mothers Day”

  10. Add sequins for some sparkle

Other Supplies?:

  1. Card stock, white and purple

  2. Printer

  3. Copic markers

  4. Distress inks

  5. White acrylic paint

  6. Blender tool

  7. Paintbrush

  8. Mother’s Day Die

  9. White gel pen

  10. Sequins

  11. Glue

  12. Scissors

  13. Small “happy” stamp

Thanks so much for visiting and make sure to check out this month’s release – you won’t be sorry!!!  And check out Varada’s Silver Membership for FREE IMAGES!!!!!!!!  Yup, you read that right….Go…now…!!!!!

Hugs, ~Maura
