Today’s card is the first of two cards I created for using these stencils. (I will share the second card in the coming few days.) Thank you, Paper-Garden!
I found that the Echo Park stencils are made up of good sturdy material. They not only take blending with ink very well, but also work great for dry embossing.
For this particular card, I used the Branches stencils to dry emboss my white panel and the design embossed beautifully! To do this, I first die cut a rectangle panel out of white cardstock using Simon Says Stamp stitched rectangle die. (If I had embossed first, the ridges would have flattened out when I put the panel through my Platinum machine for die cutting, so I did the die cutting before embossing. )
For actual embossing process for this card, I used the die cutting sandwich, but instead of placing a die on top of my panel, I placed the Branches stencil. It worked great and I love the result I got. While the stencils was still on top of the panel, I also used a finger dauber with Delicata rose gold and pink inks to emphasize a couple branches, approximately where I would be layering my labels.
Next I die cut a couple labels out of Echo Park Wedding Bliss collection using Spellbinders labels dies. I also cut out a banner from one of the papers. After layering these on top of each other using foam tape, I added a sticker from my stash at the top that says ‘Happily Ever After’.
To finish, I added a few enamel dots in light pink and mounted the white panel on top of a shimmery pink cardstock (again from my stash). I also added some twine and a tied it in a bow at the top of this card and called it done.
I had fun making this project. The pink, grey and olive colors look so good together. The embossed branches add the perfect touch to the background. The stencil work great for embossing as well as for adding ink. A big shout out to Paper Garden.ca for sending me these stencils. Loved working on this project.
