Flip cards without using any special flip-card dies | MFT Stamps

Hi guys, after I posted on Instagram my flip card using Whimsical and Wild collection by Jane Davenport from Spellbinders, I promised to show a quick how-to, so this post is about that. And in the process I have 2 more cards :)

Card 1:

Card 2:

Key Ingredients:

  1. Old My Favorite Things Stitched Hearts die set

  2. My Favorite Things Sending Sweet Celebration Wishes Clear Stamps

  3. Derwent Inktense Pencils

  4. Various colors of Gina K inks

Steps:

  1. Flip mechanism:

  2. Cut two card bases A2 sized.

  3. First card:

  4. Line up the die and tape it in place.

  5. Draw a very faint pencil line through the middle of the die

  6. Place the top cutting plate from the outer, open side of the card front, till it covers only the half portion of the die, only up to the pencil line

  7. Run it through the die cutting machine to do partial die cutting

  8. Second card:

  9. Figure out where to put the pencil line by folding the card front backwards till it makes 5.5 inches wide

  10. Pinch the top and bottom part and mark a pencil line through these pinched marks

  11. Tape the die in place keeping the middle of the die line up through the pencil line

  12. Place the top cutting plate from the outer, open side of the card front, till it covers only the half portion of the die, only up to the pencil line

  13. Run it through the die cutting machine to do partial die cutting

  14. Cut two of each hearts from watercolor paper, stamp and color these images

  15. Adhere them on the partial cut out heart and also add more stamping + some embellishments on the flipping side of the card.

Here is the how-to video followed by some close ups of the colored images.
