This week I am hoping I can post every day, but I am not sure. I will try my best. I promise.
For the next few posts, I decided to focus on WPlus9. This is a company whose products I love. Specially their floral stamps and sentiments with beautifully handwritten fonts. Simply amazing!
Today I worked mainly with flowers from the Wplus9 Petunia Builder stamp set to make two cards. This set does not have any sentiments, so I used Wplus9 Modern Anemones and Wplus9 Kind Soul stamp sets for the sentiments.
Flowers and leaves
For both these cards, I started by stamping each flower in the stamp set twice – one time in yellow and another time purple. I used Altenew mini ink cube sets Summer Afternoon and Shades of Purple. I am a big fan of these inks because the sets are perfectly coordinated from light to dark shade of one specific color (no more guesswork!); these inks dry very even (even when they look a bit splotchy at first); and these inks only minimally stain the stamps. Love them!
I also stamped and die cut two sets of leaves using Studio G green ink and Tsukineko Hint of Pesto ink. (Yes, Altenew mini ink cube set for green is so on my wishlist!)
Card base
Now for the card base. This week I’m challenging myself to make shaped cards. So I decided to use the largest one of Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels One dies to cut out my card base. You can check out two ways to create shaped cards below. It is easier to show than to tell. I used the first technique to create today’s cards.
Colorful heat embossing without colored embossing powder
For the yellow card, I cheated just a little by adding a couple dot clusters. This dot cluster stamp is from SSS Look For the Miracles stamp set. I wanted to heat emboss this tiny image as well as the sentiments in purple. But I don’t have purple embossing powder. So here’s what I did.
Prepped the card base with Ek Success powder tool to remove any static.
Inked my stamps first with Versa Mark and then with the darkest color from Shades of Purple ink set, and then stamped them.
Added clear embossing powder and melted it with my heat tool. :-) No need for purple embossing powder. You can do the same trick with any color ink you might have.

For the purple card, I stamped leaves and this time used green embossing powder, just because I had it. This one came in the Martha Stewart Heat Embossing starter kit. For the sentiment on this one, I used SSS Ultra Fine Gold embossing powder.
Next I mounted the flowers and leaves with foam squares, added sequins + wink of stella and called these done.
