Hi friends, happy Sunday! I am here with another card idea using something I sketched and colored by myself. :-) This Christmas Santa (wink wink) gave me a book that teaches sketching for florals – “In Bloom: A Step-by-Step Guide to Drawing Lush Florals ” by Rachel Reinrt. I am so in love with this book. So far I have drawn two things out of it. Today’s card using one of them which is this beautiful succulent echeveria.
Had so much fun making this card. I started by die cutting a rectangle using my current favorite rectangle dies from Memory Box (link below). Next I did a rough outline sketch using my pencil + guidance from the book and then went over these pencil lines with my Prismacolor pen/marker (did I mention how much I love this one? I do. I so do!) For coloring, I used Ooku markers – these are nicely pigmented colors and blend really easily with each other as well as with water. Love them. After everything was dry, I added the detailed lines again with Prismacolor pen. For sentiment, I used the one from Altenew Perfectly Perfect stamp set. Lastly I foam mounted this rectangle panel on a top folding card made using Neenah Dessert Storm cardstock and added Pretty Pink Posh Spring Green jewels and called it done.
Hope you like this one and do give sketching a try. #somethingnew in 2019. What say?
