Hi friends, sorry for being absent from this space for some time. I have been working on several important and exciting things. They will start materializing early 2021, so do stay tuned :) For today though, I have a fun card to share. This time I made a shaker card and I love how it turned out.
Key Ingredients:
Spellbinders Small Die of the Month for Dec 2020
Spellbinders A2 side fold card base
Patterned paper that looks like wallpaper. I chose a paper from my stash. It’s from an older Authentique paper pad I think.
Patterned paper that looks like a scene from outdoor. I used this paper from an older Spellbinders card kit (Dec 2018!) that has like a snowy mountain scene with trees.
Some sparkly shaker pieces. I could not find the exact pieces I added inside, but I will link to some similar ones.
Acetate and foam tape for the shaker.
Steps:
Trim the wallpaper like paper to be same size as A2 card front.
Trim the outdoor scene paper to be also almost same size, slightly smaller on each side.
Die cutting:
Approximately in the center of the wallpaper cut out, die cut the window.
Die cut the same window using black cardstock.
Die cut two kitties – one black and one white.
Die cut a couple planters and greenery.
Die cut the sentiment using black cardstock and just the white label underneath.
Assemble the pieces

Make the shaker ready
On the wrong side of the window cut out (inside the card) on wallpaper-like-paper panel, add a piece of acetate that covers all the areas.
Adhere some greenery such that it looks like branches of a tree outside the window.
Add foam tape on all sides. I like to cut thinner widths from my foam tape roll, it specially helps on the curved part of top of the window. Before taking off the release paper, I like to go on all the inside parts with my embossing powder tool. This removes any unnecessary stickiness on the walls of my shaker and lets the pieces move about freely.
Add shaker pieces and close the shaker using the other patterned paper (the one with outside scene).
Adhere this shaker to the card front and embellish further
Add the sentiment with some more foam tape.
Adhere the kitties and planters with plants to finish the scene.
That’s it. I considered adding some more of the bling pieces on the outside, but then decided it wasn’t really needed. There’s much going on on the card front anyways. I loved it as is.
