Hello peeps, I have a fun paper shapes layering card for you today. I love how this turned out – the colors, texture and dimension – I love it all!
For this card, I really went all out with creating a shape cluster. To start, I picked the circle ‘love’ ephemera and the long ticket kinda-thingie (ephemera?!) from Spellbinders’ December 2017 card kit Frosted Lilac (It is still available, so feel free to grab it!)
Next I picked purple paper from the same kit and using the flower die from Butterfly Flutter die set, I cut out a flower. I used one of the glittery blue / teal cardstock from my stash and die cut a leaf using another die from the same set. I think this die set was from their March 2017 small die of the month kit. Again, this is still available for purchase. :-)
I also used another small flower die to die cut a golden flower. This die came from the Grateful for you die set, which was their small die of the month kit for Oct 2017.
I also die cut a gold bird using the same gold mirrored cardstock using momenta bird dies that I picked up from Hobby Lobby.
Instead of layering all these shapes directly on the cardbase, I created a panel for my shapes using white cardstock which I dry embossed using Echo Park Modern Chevron stencil. I also cut out one corner from this panel and adhered a gold mirrored cardstock corner under this.
Finally, I layered all these shapes together like you see it and finished up with some nuvo drops. I know the drops did not turn out to be exactly round, but I went with them anyways. To me these enhanced the ‘handmade’ look of this project :-)
