Maker’s Mart – Spellbinders Card Kit of the month

Hi friends, for one month this June, I subscribed to the Spellbinders Card Kit of the month. Today I have a video showing unboxing of this card kit and a card I made using this kit.

Here’s the card I made using supplies from this kit:

To put it together, I simply blended three distress ink colors (abandoned coral, fossilized amber and crushed pistachio) onto one of the card bases from the kit. These colors perfectly match the stickers in the kit. I stamped one of the summery sentiments from one of the older stamp sets from SSS using Ranger archival black ink.

Then I foam mounted one large sticker – the ferry’s wheel – onto the blended area. Finally I adhered some individually selected tiny sequins from Martha Stewart iridescent hearts and stars glitters to finish it off.

Love how it turned out. All sparkly and beautiful.

Here’s my take on this card kit:

1. LOVE the dies. I have seen Yana Smakula create magic with the dies from Spellbinders and I am excited to try these out myself.

2. Love the pre-scored and cut cards! The cardstock has nice texture too.

2. I like how this card kit gives enough embellishments and paper to make 10 cards, but there won’t be too many left overs. :-)

3. I wish there were at least some stamps with the kit. Stamping is my *thing* and not having stamps, makes me miss them.

So I have decided to unsubscribe from the card kit BUT subscribe to the die kit of the month from Spellbinders. I did re-subscribe to the Simon Says Stamp card kit and along with these Spellbinders dies, I am sure I will have a blast!!

What do you think? Love it or leave it? Let me know in comments below.
