One more Anniversary Celebration - Instagram hop and prizes to be won!

Hi everyone, hope everyone is having a great start of week. We are celebrating our 1st anniversary with one more giveaway and yes, we have an inspiration hop to go with it. Please start on my profile on Instagram here to hop along and win prizes.

For my stop, I made two cards. First one with “Dear Darling” stamp set and second one with “I Be-leaf In You”. This time I challenged myself to try an unusual color combo and stayed away from my usual pinks, light blues and yellows. Do let me know how you like it.

Card 1:

Key Ingredients:

Steps:

  1. Plan, size, and print images + sentiments using PowerPoint.

  2. Color flowers and leaves. I used Ooku watercolor markers to color only the leaves. For the flowers I added only some light shading with my kids’ Crayola gray marker. (I am no longer able to find the Amazon link to

  3. Add some interest to the background. I didn’t like a blank white background, so first I added some Sepia watercolor. I didn’t like that also, so I added Vintage Photo Distress Ink with my Staggered Rectangles stencil. Finally, I liked the layered, withered look for the background with the white flowers and green leaves, so went with that.

  4. Add embellishments. I added a stripe of washi tape, and gems for flower centers.

  5. Die cut a banner for the sentiment, foam mount it and call it done.

Card 2:

Key Ingredients:

  1. Clear Emboss It pen from Ranger (multiple sources linked below)

Steps:

  1. Plan, size, and print images + sentiments using PowerPoint.

  2. Add green heat embossing. I used the Emboss It pen to trace over the image because I had printed with Laser printer. While the ink is still sticky, add green embossing powder on it and heat emboss. I have seen crafters on YouTube, who print with an inkjet printer and while the ink is still a little wet, add embossing powder on top. Use heat gun to melt the powder.

  3. Color in with watercolors. I used Ooku markers.

  4. Add red gems as berries and add sentiment to finish off the card.

I be-leaf (pun intended), this could easily become a Christmas card :)
