Playing with SSS January 2015 card kit

Hello and Happy New Year, friends! May this year bring you loads of inspiring moments, peaceful moments and moments of great contentment with your loved ones!!

We got back from vacation a few days ago and still haven’t gotten over the jet-lag. We had gone to India and attended a wedding there. After the wedding we took a trip to my parents’ home and our main family home. It was a total blast. Every single day we kept doing something or going somewhere. It was all very hectic and tiring, but oh so fun. (May be too much fun? Lol…)

After getting the house reset in the last few days, today I spent some time playing with the new Jan 2016 card kit by Simon Says Stamp and created a cute little card.

I started by creating the card base using white cardstock. Next I created a front panel for my card using a patterned paper from the kit. I lined up the left edge with the silver ribbon, also from the kit.

Next I used the smallest of the stitched rectangle SSS dies to cut out a window in this panel. The patterned paper stack in this kit has a paper with a few journaling cards. I adhered one of them just below the die cut opening. For the sentiment, I heat embossed the word love from the stamp set in the kit. I messed up the stamping just a tiny bit, but decided not to let that bother me :-)

I had a pack of snowflake brads from The Paper Studio and I found that they go perfectly well with the colors in this kit. (I can’t find the exact one, linking to a similar one below). I attached one of those to bottom left side of the panel and attached two sequin snowflakes from the kit, to the top right corner of the window. Finally I adhered the the glittery dots (also from the kit) to centers of sequin snowflakes and called it done :-)

That’s all for today, friends. I am happy to be creating cards and blogging. Stay tuned to this space, as I have got many more art-sy craft-sy plans for V-day :-)
