Shaker card using SSS September 2015 card kit

Hi friends, today I have a shaker card for you which is made using the September 2015 card kit by Simon Says Stamp. I have only made a couple shaker cards before this, but this one is my favorite. ^-^

I have linked all the supplies used for this card at the end of this post. Here’s how I made it:

For this one, I used the Mint colored card stock from the card kit to create a standard A2 sized card.
Shaker pieces
I used the second largest rectangle from the SSS Stitched rectangle dies to cut a balloon patterned paper from the kit. This became the base for my shaker.
I used a piece of fun foam and die cut it using two of the rectangle dies (2nd and 3rd largest) from the same set of stitched rectangle dies to create a frame. I used the exact same dies to cut the black-and-white patterned paper as the cover for my frame.
Finally I assembled the shaker.
Assembling the shaker
I laid down the balloon patterned paper base and adhered the foam frame on top using glossy accents. (I ran out of my permanent adhesive.)
I filled it with some Martha Stewart iridescent Hearts & Stars Glitter. This came with the August 2015 SSS card kit.
Next I adhered one of the acetate cards that came with the September 2015 SSS card kit. This one says “exist to be happy. not to impress.”
As the top most frame I added the b&w patterned paper frame. I kept a book on top of this assembly for a couple minutes to make sure that the shaker was glued well.
Ballons and banner
I stamped the balloon outline shapes on some patterned papers and fussy cut them. The yellow one came from March 2015 SSS card kit. I layered then on the top right corner of my frame and also added one tiny little star from the shaker pieces to the yellow balloon. I just couldn’t resist ^-^
I stamped “my friend” sentiment from the My Friend SSS Stamptember set in Hero Art black ink on top of another gray and white patterned paper and then cut it in a banner shape. I inked the edges to give it a more defined look and also glued a button on top using glossy accents.
Finally I simply added the completed embellished shaker at an angle on my card base.

That’s all. The rectangle dies and the acetate cards from September 2015 SSS card kit made this shaker card very easy peasy. I hope you like it and you get inspired to try something like this.
