Hello! Shannon Edwards here, and I am so excited to share my Inky Friday project with you all this week because it is about one of my favorite subjects: florals. Flowers are one of my favorite crafting muses because they are so versatile and can be colored with so many kinds of media and in a wide range of colors. This week I chose a floral with a unique color scheme.
Key Ingredients:
Bristol 110lb cardstock
Prismacolor pencils
White gel pen
Black self-adhering gems
Foam tape
Cardstock in lime green, turquoise, black, and white wood
Deckled Frames dies by Waffle Flower
ATG tape runner
To create this card, I printed Forget Me Not on my Bristol paper. I colored the image with my Prismacolor pencils and blended with a colorless blender. I added some white highlights in gel pen and added a black gem to the center of each flower. I fussy cut the image, leaving a very thin border around the image. I used the deckled frames dies to cut a white wood and turquoise. I matted the white wood on black, attacked that to the larger turquoise, and adhered the whole background to a lime green card base. Finally, I adhered the focal image to the base and created a simple banner with the sentiment. I adhered the banner over the stem with some foam tape.
I just love how the teal and green of the floral glow on the card. Varada makes such beautiful florals, and they are splendid in every color. Check out her February releases today.
Thanks! ~Shannon
