Hello my dear friends! I am so sorry, my work and life keeping me busy adulting. And also a brand new addition to our household – our Kiara has been keeping me busy too, but in a very very good way! Check out her pictures on my Instagram feed – she had brought so much love and calm to our lives, that I did not think was possible. Thank you, #ruralanimalrescueeffort!
Also, it has been rainy and gray in my neck of the woods and that’s my excuse for not crafting (= sitting with Kiara on the couch watching her sleep).
I feel like I am done with winter for this year, so today’s card is my attempt to tempt the nature talent fairing to bring spring here. What do you think?
To start with I stamped several outline floral images using Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock and colored them using my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. I used CR2, CR4 & CR5 for pink flowers and GB3, GB4 and GB6 for yellow ones. Next I stamped several leaves using Simon Says Stamp Green Apple ink. Once all these images were ready, I die cut them using matching dies.
For my sentiment, I used the Big Thanks die. The outline one I die cut using black cardstock and the inside word I die cut thrice using textured Green, glitter Yellow and glitter Pink cardstock. All these are cardstocks that I like to pick up from Joann when they are on sale :-) I cut 2 letters from each color and adhered them together on the black outline.
I also foam mounted some small flowers into large ones to make dimensional flowers. I shaped the petals on these with my fingers before adhering them together.
For my background, I took the diagonal stripes background stamp from Simon Says Stamp and stamped it directly on my white textured cardbase using Simon Says Stamp Surf Blue ink. My ink pad is quite dry, and my stamp had a little bit of leftover Simon Says Stamp Hot Lips ink. So the background came up to be slightly two toned and I kinda went with it :-)
Finally I layered everything as you see here on the card and stamped the words “so much” right under ‘thanks’. I also added several confetti flowers to flower centers and also around the leaves.
What part of this card do you like the most? Combining letters to make the letters colorful? Or layering flowers to make them dimensional? Do let me know in the comments below.
