Simon Says Stamp Friends release & inspiration

Hi friends, I have something really exciting to share today. One of my favorite craft companies – Simon Says Stamp had their latest release recently. It is called as “Friends” and has so many super cute stamps, dies and more goodies. I have my eye on the heart background stamp, handwritten sentiments stamp and several dies.

Card Inspiration

And here is my card for today. I used several Simon Says Stamp and other products for this card. The main image with all the critters is from the latest SSS Friends Release.

SSS Friends Release Card 1

I started by die cutting my watercolor paper panel using one of the SSS Stitched Rectangle dies and then using scallop border die.

Next I stamped my critters and clouds using archival black ink. Then I colored the critters, grass and sky using inktense pencils. I also added water using water-brush to enhance and spread the pigment.

I am not much of a colorer, but do plan to learn and get better at it. Will keep sharing my experiments with you all here. Do share some of your favorite tips and techniques, so I can learn.

After the grass was colored, I added a few grass scribbles using an image from the SSS Some Bunny Special stamp set + SSS Green Apple ink.

I then heat embossed a sentiment from the Best Friends stamp set onto a pre-made black card base with white powder. I also added a line stamp at the bottom and heat embossed using same white powder. #justLikeThat :-)

Lastly I adhered the colored panel on top of the cardbase using foam tape and called this project done.
