Hi friends, welcome to a fun blog party for celebrating Simon Says Stamp Stamptember 2018!
For today, I made a winter / Christmas card using the Big Picture Book Labrador die. I think it is my first Christmas card for 2018 and it is white on white with red accents. One of my favorite Christmas color combo. And I did something quite fun with the cute Santa hat on this adorable pup {inspired by Santa Paws}. Check this out:
To make this fun card I die cut the puppy out of white cardstock and also its ears. I also die cut puppy’s face from black cardstock for the eyes and the mouth. I also used some printer paper traced the puppy die for its outline and fussy cut it out making sure to cut inside the outline. Using this as my guide, I adhered all the pieces of the puppy’s face and also its ears.
Next I worked on the Santa cap – I used the rainbow die for the red part. This die came from an older Simon Says Stamp die set – Color & Sunshine. :-) Next I used some white felt and die cut it twice with just the top part of the puppy’s head. That way it looks just right for the puppy. On top of the hat I added a half cut white, glittery pom-pom :-)
To make my puppy little more realistic, I added a white part to his eyes and also added Wink of Stella to the nose which makes it look wet. Once my puppy was all set, I adhered it to my cardfront and added two stripes of patterned paper – one with the sentiment that says, “season’s greetings” and another with candy cane stripes.
To pull all the red, white and a little bit of silver together I added matching sequins + silver stars and called this project done.
