Spellbinders Card Kit Club | Card idea 2 – card for a guy

Hi friends, I don’t know about you, but I often struggle with making cards for guys. I can easily whip up something beautiful using florals, bling, even cute critters sometimes, but masculine cards don’t come easily to me. With this month’s Spellbinders’ card kit though, I felt it was different. I did create at least a couple cards that would be great for guys. Like this birthday card I am sharing today:

I started by stamping and fussy cutting the bear. I used Hero Arts Brown ink for him. Next I laid down all my pieces for the frame – the leaf, bear and the round ephemera piece that says ‘family man’. I did not adhere them down just yet. I used the MISTI to stamp a flower and couple more leaf images around the frame. I used Distress Oxide Stormy Sky ink for these little images as they matched the closest to the leaf ephemera. I also added another panel of patterned paper to sorta ground the frame with the bear. On this panel, I used the Archival Black ink to stamp my main sentiment.

What do you think? Cute or not-cute? Let me know in the comments below.
