Spellbinders | Decorative Glimmer Blog Hop

Hi friends, I am super duper thrilled and excited today. It’s like a dream come true – alongside some uber talented ladies I am participating in a blog hop featuring Spellbinders Decorative Glimmer collection.

You should have come here from Laura Volpes’s beautiful blog. If you want to start over and follow all the blogs, you can do so  Spellbinders Blog.

I have three projects to share all of which use the gorgeous Glimmer Hot Foil plates and foils. So, let’s get started:

Project 1

My first card uses the beautiful Hello glimmer foil plate along with Watercolor stamp set. This stamp set came as part of an older card kit but can be purchased individually too.

I started by creating a quick floral background using the stamp set with some Distress Oxide inks + archival black ink (links to actual colors below). I used MISTI to stamp my largest flowers and acrylic blocks for the rest smaller ones. Once I was happy with this, I hot foiled the main Hello sentiment with Pink foil. This foil roll came in June Glimmer Hot Foil kit of the month for June 2019. {I know I . keep saying this, but Spellbinders kits are a great value for money.}

I die cut the panel with Hemstitched rectangle die set, added a secondary sentiment “beautiful” (adhered a bit of the leftover foil to it for some added detail) and adhered a few matching gems. To finish off, I mounted this panel on a matching blue cardbase.

Project 2:

My second card uses the Circle Pattern glimmer plates with Champagne foil color. Instead of layering these, I went with three individual circles foiled on a Hero Arts Tiffany Blue cardstock panel. Love the combo of this blue and gold. Inside each of these circles, I stamped and white heat embossed the words Love. Hugs. Kisses. from ‘You’re My Type’ stamp set. To embellish a little, I added some flowers, leaves and gems before adding this panel to top of a white cardbase.

Project 3:

For my final project, I made a beautiful little box. I die cut two of the panels using Charming Cottage die from patterned paper. This paper itself had a color-block pattern. On each of these I lined up the Flower Border glimmer plate along the bottom edge and foiled using Champagne foil color. After scoring and assembling the box, I embellished with a flower, leaves, a couple gold squiggles and a tag.
