Spellbinders Large Die of the Month Club | Card Idea

Hi friends, hope you are ready for a fun, colorful card today, because today’s card is just a blast of happy colors.

I did not use the inside dies for the cake itself. Instead, I used a very colorful patterned paper with lots of sprinkles on it (and yes, some of those are gold foiled). To layer my cake, I used the largest of Fancy Edged Rectangles with blue textured to create a background. After die cutting, I added dry embossing on this panel with Love Stripes embossing folder.

I did make a whole bunch of flowers and leaves (kinda went crazy with it and used up several of my scrapes from various projects). I also die cut a heart with the stick from one of the glittery pink papers from my stash. I originally thought of putting “U R ” with the heart to mean something like “U R Loved”, but my folks could not figure out that’s what it meant :-) So I just went with UR#1 and added the heart towards bottom (like a cake pop or something). Lastly I added a bunch of banners in matching colors to finish it off.

I have been noticing lately that I don’t add as many embellishments like sequins etc when there are already several tiny die cuts on cards. What do you think of that – does it make you feel like the card is lacking something? Do let me know.
