Hi friends, I am sorry for my absence – a lot of things going on – work, a bit of sickness in our household, more work and so on. But today I am here to share the 1st of 4 cards I made using the gorgeous Spellbinders Large Die of the month kit for Feb 2019.
As soon as I saw the word ‘Bonjour’ in this month’s Large die kit, I knew I had to use this patterned paper with Eiffel Tower on it. I cut out several flowers from yellow textured paper, gold mirrored card stock and leaves from green textured cardstock. I also cut out the main word from black cardstock and a heart using gold mirrored card stock.
Next I arranged all the flowers and leaves around the Eiffel tower. For some added interest, I foam mounted and adhered the rest using liquid glue. Next to the tower I added my die cut word and the gold heart on it. For flower centers, I added some Pretty Pink Posh jewels in Metallic Rose Gold and Metallic Gold colors.
At this point, I wanted to add a little something on the side of my word. I tried arranging flowers, but didn’t like the look. So I die cut a yellow flower, but used it as wings for a butterfly :-) Yes, this month’s die kit comes with some large butterfly dies. (Keep watching this space, I do have several cards to share using those.) I used the butterfly body and antennae to complete my butterfly. Like several Spellbinders dies, you can use these to add stencil-like details to these die cuts. I used the same to add some fine black lines and attached a gem to the wing too.
That’s it :-) Hope you liked this card idea and will give it a try.
