Spellbinders | Large Die of the month kit Feb 2019 | Card Idea 2 and 3

Still playing with Spellbinders Large Die of the month kit Feb 2019, friends! Glad you could drop by. So, here are my cards for today:

I had the toughest time photographing this first card – it has beautiful foiled details on the patterned paper. It also has the shiny silver butterfly on top – both together made it almost impossible to take a good picture.  So this is the best I could manage. And this one – on a black background:

Hope you can see all the beautiful details in at least one of these pictures :-)

This is a pretty straightforward card really. All the jazz is only because of the beautiful patterned paper (part of an older Spellbinders card kit) and the gorgeous butterfly dies. These dies are seriously so beautiful – on their own or layered with two die cuts. For this first card, I layered the die cuts, but adhered the two butterflies only at the body. Did not attach their wings and left them floating. At the very base, I added another butterfly – a whole butterfly with no cut spaces in wings – this one I die cut using some vellum.

For the sentiment, I used a recent stamp set from Spellbinders card kits and stamped ‘I Adore You’ using Archival Black ink on yellow paper. I fussy cut in a banner shape and also added a very thin silver mirrored card stock stripe. A sprinkling of some Ivory Jewels from Pretty Pink Posh and this card was done. (Oh yes, the card base is from a Spellbinders card kit too.)

Now for the second card, I did something straightforward again, but with another small twist.

I cut out a rectangle from patterned paper – from an older card kit. Fussy cut another banner from white cardstock and stamped a sentiment on it from the Sunshiny day stamp set. For the butterfly, I layered a white one with cut out wings on a shiny blue one with solid wings. I adhered these two completely together. Also, to match the intricate lace-y design on the patterned paper, I did something similar on the white butterfly.

You can see the details here – I drew lines with the help of a ruler and Ranger – Inkssentials Clear Embossing pen. Next I took a dry paintbrush and added the pearl white Mica Powder from Prima Marketing Art Ingredients. In real life it looks so pretty and shimmery. As a finishing touch, I added a few Pearl White jewels from Pretty Pink Posh and called it done.

Hope you like these ideas and give them a try. Also keep watching this space because my next two posts using these dies are super fun.
