After a long time I played with a little bit of multi media. I so want 2019 to be my year of doing more multi media, more watercolor, more loose form of art instead of very structured things. And this is one of my attempts at it..
I started by painting on a canvas with acrylic paints in blue-green shades. And then added splatters + random brush strokes with white gesso. All these butterflies (and some more), I had created while working on different card ideas. All of these use Spellbinders Large die of the month for Feb 2019 and a whole lot of cardstock, patterned papers and shiny papers from my stash.
In my stash I also had a beautiful patterned paper from an old 12×12 pack. I cut out the delicate floral pattern from it and layered it on top of the canvas. Next I added a piece of lace on top. On top of this, I added a wood veneer frame on top. Just behind the opening of this frame, I layered some patterned paper for some additional interest.
For my words I used a sticker and couple tickets (all part of older Spellbinders card kits). All the words read – Wonderful Life, Today Keep Life Simple, U (horceshoe) Lucky 1. All good and inspiring things. :-) As a final finishing touch, I added some Pretty Pink Posh jewels in Metallic Rose Gold color.
I love it when we can use card making supplies for creating other things. And I am really happy with how this canvas turned out. Do give this idea a try :-)
