Hey you guys, today’s card is just oh so cute, thanks to the Spellbinders Small Die of the Month Club kit. See for yourself:
I am just so in love with this little scooter (Vespa?). This is another die set which needs special attention to colors and assembly. To simply it, I made groups of dies and assigned colors to each. It was also helpful to look at the picture in the inspiration card that comes in the kit. So, first and foremost, I planned colors, die cut and assembled the Vespa.
For the background, I used one of the cardbases that came in the card kit and dry embossed it with the Inspire embossing folder. I love how these embossing folders are so detailed, yet give this amazing level of dimension to the card.
For the sentiment I wanted balloons saying, “Enjoy”, so I cut out just the letters (used only inside die without layering the balloon one around it) using white cardstock. A couple weeks ago, when I hot foiled sentiments, I had made a bunch of them at once, so I decided to use one of those and pair “Enjoy” with “It’s Your Day”. For the balloons I used scraps from the same pieces of colors that I used for the Vespa + leftover from the same color as “It’s Your Day” stripe. On each of these balloons, I added one letter from “Enjoy”.
I did struggle a bit with the next part of tying strings to balloons and to the front of the scooter, but in the end, I conquered the chaos! :-) I actually unravelled one of the gold strings to separate out each of the thinner gold threads to make these strings. To make sure they stayed in place, I added a dot of multi medium matte at the bottom of each one.
I wasn’t too happy about the way all those 5 strings made a big blob at the front of the scooter, so I added a flower cluster on top – these were leftovers from my Large Die of the Month project. To give this lonely flower a buddy, I added one more right next to the foiled sentiment stripe.
