Here’s another card I made using the August 2015 card kit from Simon Says Stamp. I am so happy I subscribed! :-)
I have listed all the supplies with links at the end of this post. So, let’s get straight to the how-I-did-it part:
For this card, I used the ivory cardstock from the kit to create a top folding card. Then I took a white card stock about 1/4 inch smaller on all sides than the card base. I used this to create a beach side scene. I fussy cut a scratch paper to make masks for the two layers of waves + one layer of the sandy beach. And then used a sponge to blend colors for each layer.
For the sky, I used a blue ink pad from StudioG. I am not able to locate it anywhere, but I think the Chipped Sapphire distress ink will work equally well. I then blended Mermaid Lagoon + Cracked Pistachio distress inks to create the waves. Fossilized Amber helped make the sandy beach.
A couple cloud stickers and the sun sticker made the sky while the sandy beach came alive with sentiment.
I had let some slight areas of white show through between two waves, I went over them with the Sakura glitter pen included in the kit to give an impression of foam. I used the Hero Hues Artprint Brown ink to stamp the sentiment “You are better than” after masking off the “Summer Sunshine” part from the stamp. Instead of these words from the stamp, I used the Summer sticker from the kit + the negative die cut for Sunshine. (I used the actual die cut on this card here.) A star sticker from the kit became a star-fish and completed the card. ;-)
I love how it turned out. Do let me know your comments and thoughts.
