SSS Thankful Heart + SSS Birthday Flowers

Hi friends, this month’s card kit from Simon Says Stamp has a very special stamp set – it has no images! It is full of gratefulness / thanksgiving themed sentiments in Kristina Werner’s beautiful brush handwriting, but no images in this set. So, that gave me a chance to bring back some of the sentiments from older kits and pair those images with this sentiment-al stamp set :-)

For today’s cards I combined this Thankful Heart stamp set with an older SSS stamp set – Birthday Flowers (which came in April card kit earlier this year).

Both these cards came together very quickly and in just a few steps

  1. Die cut rectangles from SSS white cardstock. I shifted the same rectangle die on one of them to trim one side and make it square-ish.

  2. Stamped flowers and leaves. Added centers with darker / black color, added solid leaves in the middle of outline ones, added the fussy lines image (also from birthday flowers stamp set).

  3. Added sentiment from Thankful heart stamp set right on top of the stamped flowers. Used ranger archival black ink on one and Hero Arts burgundy ink on the other. The burgundy ink cube came in one of Hero Arts’ My Monthly Hero card kits. I did not find a matching ink pad / cube, but their Ombre Autumn ink pad has this color and I will link to it below. {Yes, I used MISTI to stamp the sentiment and yes, I had to double stamp :-) } I also stamped a couple small circle images in Hero Arts burgundy color so that it matched the sentiment.

  4. Embellished with little gems + a couple dots with stickles (came in SSS November kit) and adhered to black card base using scortape.

Love how these are one layer (great for mailing), yet very colorful in an autumn sort of way. The design is also easily repeatable and works beautifully for making multiples.

Hope you liked these cards and are inspired to make some similar ones.
