Stamping Smiles Design Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #16

Hey, it’s 16th and that means a fun new tic-tac-toe challenge at Stamping Smiles Design.

This time the grid is:

And here’s the photo for the photo inspiration:

I went with the bottom row – clothespin + birthday + patterned paper and made this one:

SSD TTT challenge 16 - a

I used patterned paper from the Echo Park Spring paper pack to make the tag and the banner. This pack came in the March 2016 SSS card kit. When making a project, I like to use papers from one single pack. Paper packs like these are already color coordinated.

My Favorite Things dienamics helped with all the die cutting including the little green swirlies. I also used a craft punch to cut out a couple leaves from green card stock. That punch is from Martha Stewart and I got it from Michaels.

The card base and the yellow flower came from Maker’s Mart card kit for May 2016. I combined the big bright yellow flower with couple more smaller rolled ribbon roses that I had in my stash. I adhered the cluster on bottom right corner of the tag using glue dots. I feel this a secure way to adhere dimensional things like these flowers. On top of the tag, I added some sparkly ribbon from my stash plus a clothespin. Just for good measure, I also added a glue dot to keep the ribbon and clothespin in place. I secured a confetti butterfly on the other side of the tag with a glue dot. (Yes, this card came together with a variety of adhesives.)

I also added a banner with Happy Birthday sentiment. This sentiment came from the SSS sketched ranunculus stamp set and had both the words in a single line. I cut the two words apart and stamped them one below the other using Ranger Archival black ink. Cutting clear stamps apart does not bother me because I know I can always mount them the way I want them while stamping. :-)

On the card base, I blended two distress ink colors – cracked pistachio and mermaid lagoon – slightly offset to one side. On top of this colored area, I adhered the tag using some fun foam. On the other side, I added a matching banner. Just like the tag, I layered the same two papers using foam squares for some interesting dimension.

Finally, a strip of washi tape on one side and a few sparkly colorful enamel dots completed this fun card. Hope you like it too. I would love for you to play along with us at the Stamping Smiles Design Tic-tac-toe challenge. You could win some cool prizes :-)
