Two cards using Foiled Basics by Yana Smakula

You guys, this collection by one of my favorite artists of all times – Yana Smakula – it is just so beautiful and dreamy! I am in love. That’s why I created, not one but two love cards using the beautiful foil plates in this collection.

Card 1:

I just wanted to combine the loose sketched look of the flowers from this collection with something really intricate and dainty. So I used the circular dies from two sets – Brilliante Rondelle and Vintage Treasures dies sets by Becca Feeken.

I made a base with patterned paper circle which I ink blended with Stormy Sky Distress Oxide ink. Next I arranged several dies from the two round die sets I had picked up and temporarily adhered them the way I want with washi tape. Using Pearl White cardstock, I cut this arrangement of circles and foam mounted on my patterned paper circle.

For the back of the card, I used same Pearl White cardstock and cut out a same sized, but plain circle. Added about half an inch of score line and added both front and back pieces of the round card together.

Then I went to town with foiling and die cutting. :) I adhered the pieces together as you see, added gems and a little sentiment cut out from same cardstocks as the flowers / leaves.

Card 2:

For the second card, I went with my regular style for background – dry embossing the card front using the Inspire folder from Spellbinders + Fun Stampers Journey. I also used mostly the leftover foiled flowers and leaves from previous card.

I used an older Large Die of the Month kit from Jan 2019 to create the bouquet. In addition to tucking in several of the foiled leafy vines, I used the leftover blue cardstock which got somewhat over-foiled to die cut some more vines (using dies from LDOM Jan 2019).

Under the bouquet I added label cut out of patterned paper from Chateau Paper Pad from Craft Smart. The die for this label is from Brilliante Rondelle die set by Becca Feeken. I had cut out this label for the previous project, but ended up not using it, so I used it here.

Hope you like these cards and give the foil plates a try. They are sure to steal your heart :)
