Hello there! I hope you all have enjoyed our little series for #UseYourCraftStash challenge.
In this final post, I want to share with you how you can add dimension and color with stencils, but without any texture pastes etc. Ready? You do that by combining two techniques – dry embossing with stencils + ink blending.
Here are the cards I made to show the results.
Key Ingredients:
Altenew Poppy Bloom Stencil
Altnew Majestic Bloom die set
Echo Park Paper Company The Story of Fall Branches Stencil
Distress inks – Festive Berries and Worn Lipstick
Hero Arts Ombre Green ink Lime to Forever green
Ranger mini ink blending tools
Steps:
Prepare panels from white cardstock – die cut one and simply trim another one.
Tape the stencil to the white cardstock panels and dry emboss. Check out this video to see how to do this.
Keep the panel + stencil taped and do ink blending. I used the two distress inks for the Poppy flower and the Ombre green ink for all the leaves on both stencils.
For the sentiment, cut out the word “Thank you” multiple times and layer together.
Stamp the additional sentiment.
Embellish. I used a piece of washi tape (to cover a boo-boo and balance out the black sentiment on the flower card. I also added a bunch of chunky glitter pieces to flower center. On the second one, I added individual pieces of chunky glitter to each branch.
Mount panels on card bases.
