Washi tape card design - with stamping

Hi friends, continuing the series of playing with washi tape again. Yes, I am having too much fun :-)

I combined the washi tapes with stamping.

I stamped the Blended Petals floral design and then cut them out. Instead of coloring, I added washi tape and then stamped over it again. True to its reputation, MISTI came through on the precision that was needed to stamp on the same spot as before.

And that gorgeous background, that came as part of Spellbinders Stitching Die of the Month kit for March 2023. And those extra leaves, came from Memory Box Luxe Peony die set.

Here is the video:

The steps:

  1. Cut a panel of the hammermill cardstock the same size as the card or the background die that will be used.

  2. Plan your washi colors to cover the entire panel. You can also do the same with stripes of cardstock.

  3. Using MISTI stamp the floral design on the panel and then die-cut it out. Preserve the negative area.

  4. Cover the design with washi tape.

  5. Use the negative area as a guide + MISTI and stamp over the same place over the washi tapes.

  6. Die-cut

    1. Vellum leaves using Luxe Peony dies,

    2. The background using the Stitching Die club die,

    3. Sentiments from Spellbinders Layered Mix & Match Sentiments using black and white cardstocks.

  7. Assemble the card and add gems to finish off the project.

Here are the card closeups:

Enjoy!
