Best Teacher Ever card – using stickers for card making

Hi friends, one of my favorite things to do while crafting with kids is to use craft punches (like you saw here) or to use stickers. Today’s card uses stickers and believe it or not, my 6 yr old princess made this card with very minimal help from me. {Yes, I am so blessed to be their mom!}

When little princess A saw my MFT stitched hearts stax dies, she just wanted to use them immediately. We were working on making kids’ valentines and she decided to do the card using two of those dies.

She die cut two hearts using two difference colored papers. I had to push the handle on my Big Shot for her, but she arranged everything and even taped the dies using pieces of washi tape. {She is a keen observer, I tell ya.}

Next she chose two puffy stickers from my stash and arranged everything on a card front. She wanted the puppy to come forward from the girl, so I gave her an idea to layer up two foam dots. She did just that.

Finally I stamped the big “Teacher” word using “Teacher Talk” stamp set by Lil Inker Designs. I also stamped two more words “best” and “ever” from the same set. I made a tiny ink smudge while stamping so we covered it up with a small epoxy sticker from Doodlebug.

Ta… Da… card completed in less than 10 mins :-) Her teacher was so very happy. On Valentine’s day we gave her this card and a box of chocolates. Fun, fun, fun!!

Hope you liked today’s card and are inspired to try something like this with your children. Who knows, you might discover you have a budding artist in your family! :-)

Bug hugs, ~Varada
