Hi friends! I have two similar cards for you today. They use similar supplies and technique.
I used the roses from StampingUp! Snuggles and Smooches stamp set and heat embossed them on two panels using Martha Stewart antique gold embossing powder. I colored one with my kids’ watercolors and the other with Zig Clean Clear markers. I used yellow/pink/red colors for all roses.
The one with little hearts all over actually started as a base panel for this card. I did not like the non-sparkly look of these hearts for that card and so created another panel with all those gold embossed hearts. I decided to re-purpose that hearts stamped panel for today’s card. As they say, waster not – want not, right?
Once I was happy with all the roses, I stamped several leaves in the background. I am always looking for small leaves or other filler stamps that I can combine with other stamps like I did her. I picked some leaves from the Hero Arts Color Layering Dimensional Bird stamp set while some of the smaller ones, I chose from Wplus9 Pretty Little Peonies stamp set. I love how all that mix and match turned out :-)
The sentiment on both these cards is from the StampinUp! Flower Patch stamp set. I used a scrap piece of SSS doll pink card stock and heat embossed the sentiment with same gold embossing powder so that it matches the embossing on roses.
I also used some Mermaid Lagoon distress ink to give a light blue color wash for the background on the non-heart-filled card.
Only on the card where there were no hearts and a lot of empty space, I tucked a couple sequins here and there. The one with the hearts looked complete as it is.
I hope you liked these cards and think of creating with whatever supplies you have. Just play, and let your creative side take over for a few mins.
Happy crafting :-) ~Varada
