Cabbage – Spinach Fritters {Recipe}

Cabbage and Spinach not everyone’s all time favorite veggies. Right?

I remember when we were kids by brother was {and still is} a fussy eater. Veggies which were acceptable to him could be counted on your fingers (In fact, I dare say, fingers of only one hand!)

So when my mom used to make some dish with spinach, he used to make every excuse not to eat it.

Then for some days, my Aajji – mom’s mom – came over to stay with us.

She used to make such fritters and guess what? Everyone loved them. Even my brother!

So Mommies and dads, who want to encourage little ones to eat veggies, I present:-

cabbage spinach fritters

-: You’ll need :-

– About a cup of finely chopped veggies – cabbage and spinach

– Gram flour (besan) about 1.5 cups

– Semolina 1/2 cup

– Water

– 1/4 tsp turmeric powder

– 1/2 tsp of carom seeds

– Salt and chilli powder to taste

– Oil for deep frying

-: Preparation :-

Start heating oil in a wok or kadhai. While it is heating up, sieve the dry ingredients together and mix them with veggies and carom seeds.

Add water to the batter till it reaches the consistency of idli batter. Deep fry bite sized till golden brown.

Ultimate on a rainy day!

Enjoy!!
