Hi friends, I am still playing with Spellbinders club kits and today I brought out the Penguins – from this month’s Fun Stampers Journey + Spellbinders Stamp of the Month kit to make a birthday card – perfect for those Winter birthdays. :)
Penguins (and Pandas) are some of the easiest critters to color – they are black & white, so stamping does most of the coloring already. Color just the beaks / cheeks & feet and it’s done, right? Do let me know in the comments below some of your favorite critters to color.
For today’s card, I colored my three penguins with three colors – yellow, pink and blue. I picked up the color shades for these from one of the patterned papers from my stash (older card kits from Spellbinders). I did use MISTI for stamping these with Simon Says Stamp Black ink.
For all the coloring, I used colored pencils – Nuvo watercolor Strawberry Milkshake, Prima Marketing 64 and Prima Marketing 16. I also used the same colors to paint over the letters of my sentiment ‘happy birthday’.
Finally I adhered my patterned paper panel to the cardbase, foam mounted my penguin panel on top and finished off the project with matching sequins. I love how it turned out, hope you like it too.
