Hi Friends, today I have a really fun card for you that I made using supplies from the Simon Says Stamp October 2016 card kit. I know I say it all the time, but this one is my most favorite kit of all.
This kit was so packed with goodies – coordinating cardstock and patterned papers, gorgeous stamp set with sweet little images perfect for fall, two archival inks – again in coordinating colors, 3 Simon Says Stamp side folded note cards and the cutest acorn stickers as embellishments. I am still swooning over it. So today, I kept my card pretty simple, but with an interesting twist.
I used one of the patterned papers to create a side panel and a banner on my card. Simply cut a piece of the patterned paper about 1.25 inches, scored it at the 0.25 inch mark and adhered the folded edge to the back panel on the right side. I folded it over on the front.
When you open the side panel, you see a curved edge with stamping in matching colors.
I stamped several leafy images using Paradise Teal, Tangelo Orange (the two archival inks that came with the kit ), Hero Arts Bubble Gum and Tsukineko VersaMagic Hint Of Pesto inks. I also took a little bit of the stamping to the flap on the envelope just to make it a little bit more special :-)
Oh and those little acorn images? I made them golden with Tsukineko Brilliance Galaxy Gold ink. I matched the gold by heat embossing my sentiment in antique gold color.
Here is my practice piece :-) I like to do this often when playing with new stamps or planning new cards.
Here is one more card I made by combining this stamp set with some other supplies. Click on the image to see how that one was created.
