‘Cute Critters’ January 2021 Release Instagram hop and prizes to be won!

Hi friends – we decided to start this new year with some very cute critters. And today I have a bunch of cards (3!) to share all of which use the new release.

Card using alcolor marker coloring:

I used the “So Mice of You” from this month’s release and “Just for You” from last month’s release for this card. I arranged my images using PowerPoint and printed them out on my laser printer. Then I went over the lines using Copic Multiliner pen – this makes the image Copic as well as watercolor friendly. Once the ink was completely dry (it’s very important to let it dry completely to avoid any kinda bleeding), I colored in with Copics (all yellow areas) and Spectrum Noir markers (all pink areas).

For all my cards today I kept a pretty simple layout. Colored cardstock (embossed in 2 case of 2 cards) as a backing and the main colored image panel foam mounted on top. For this mouse card, I used a textured yellow cardstock as backing. I also added a few gems in pink to embellish the card front. The yellow cardstock and the gems are all from older Spellbinders kits.

Card with watercoloring using Inktense pencils:

I used the “A Little Birdie Told Me” stamp set for this one. Repeated the steps for printing and going over the lines with multiliner pen. For this one, I used the Derwent Inktense pencils – these pencils are great for coloring and even better for watercoloring. One of my all time favorite coloring mediums for sure.

I also used Spellbinders FSJ “I Heart” embossing folder with a matching blue cardstock to add as the backdrop and give it some additional interest. I feel this can be a great non-pink-red Valentine card. What do you think?

Card with pencil coloring (Prismacolor pencils):

I saved my favorite for the last :-) For this one I used the “Woodland Friends” set and Prismacolor pencils. A backing of matching color cardstock embossed with Spellbinders FSJ Love Stripes Embossing Folder and some heart confetti finished the card. Oh and I also hand-drew a couple smaller hearts with same colored pencil and added glossy accents on top for a little something extra. Just like that. :-)
