Hi friends, hope you guys are having a good day. If you are from Texas (or are having a hard day), my thoughts and prayers go out to you all. I hope you are able to recover and be back in your happy place once again. It feels really weird to be blogging or making cards with everything else that is going on, but I believe, at times like this, it is important to keep going. And making cards is my way of doing that. Consider yourself hugged and I hope some of my posts give a little distraction, a little hope and inspiration for you all.
Being in US, I am always looking for ways to create some Indian ethnic themed cards for Diwali. And I have been having my eyes on Simon Says Stamp Henna Patterns stamp set for a long time now. Finally last month I bought it :-P
The set itself has such beautiful images that these two cards came together quite simply. For the first one, I used only one single stamp. After prepping my SSS Dark Chocolate card base with the powder tool, I used my MISTI to stamp this image using Versa Mark ink. I did not move the stamp, simply moved my card base 6 squares for each vertical line. I added Zing! white opaque embossing powder and melted the powder using my Martha Stewart heat tool.
For the second one, I arranged a cluster of images on the MISTI door and stamped them once. Then I used some of the single images from the same cluster and stamped them around. I also added the sentiment “Celebrate” to both the cards and heat embossed with same opaque white embossing powder. I added sparkly clear sequins to both the cards and called them done.
