Gatefold card with border hinge

Hi guys, hope you all are having a wonderful weekend. Today I have a paper saving idea for making a gatefold card. Typically, we create gatefold cards by layering the back panels of two identical card bases and letting their front panels overlap. This method works great, but uses extra paper and adds bulk to the project. In the past, I did create only a small hinge and camouflaged it by covering with a washi tape / glitter tape or even a stripe of cardstock. But none of these methods of hiding the hinge were conducive to my idea today. So I went with using a border die to disguise the border as part of my design. To take it a step further, I also used the same border in multiple areas to give it a very intentional and cohesive look. As if I #totallymeanttodothat ;-)

Here's what the card looks like:

I did make a video for the whole process so you can check out how this came together. I hope you like this little trick and do give it a try.

Do let me know in the comments below on how you like this idea and if you happen to create something similar, don't forget to tag me on social media. I'd love to give you a shout-out :-)
