Happy Celebrations – Spellbinders – LDOM April 2020

Hi guys, how are you all doing? We are doing the best we can and seriously taking full advantage of the slow down to connect with each other, engage in meaningful conversations and as my younger one likes to call it, “get to know each other all over again”. I am ready to go back to office, but I am definitely not complaining about getting to stay safe at home during this time (and neither are Mr C and kids, btw). I am so grateful for my little group of humans + a fur baby in this house :)

Today I decided to bring a truckload of cheer to you with this Happy Birthday card :)

I combined three different die sets – Happy Celebrations – LDOM Apr 2020 (for cupcake, party hat and license plate that says “birthday” – Festive Wreaths Slider Card – LDOM Jun 2019 (for the pull out mechanism and the little flowers) – Truckin Through the Seasons – LDOM Oct 2018 (for the truck itself)

First I die cut all my pieces and assembled each element by itself. I cut the main body of the truck twice. After slipping in the cupcake and party hat, I added the second one on the back so that the back looks nice too when someone makes the panel / truck stand up.

For the main mechanism panel, after die cutting it, I stamped on it with Hero Arts Garland Bold Print background stamp. I used Simon Says Stamp Pale Blush Pink ink for stamping this and also took help from MISTI stamping tool along with its creative corners.

I added my truck to the bottom panel of the slider, and also a piece of twine to the pull-handle at the top. Also, I stamped a little word saying, “PULL” right near the pull handle. This little stamp came from MFT Stamps Interactive Labels stamp set. Very useful stamp set, especially if you like to create interactive cards, this will be a really handy tool in your stash. Small but mighty stamp set :)

And just because I wanted a little something for the lower garland that goes across the card, I added two flower clusters there. I fussed the most with these flower clusters. :D Sometimes I just get into a loop and cannot decide exactly how I’d like it.

I love, love, love how this card turned out.

As you all know, I am a huge fan of Spellbinders club kits – they are so versatile and work really well with past kits. It’s a great value-for-money way of building a great crafting stash. Do check them out for sure.
