Happy Mother’s Day – one more card inspiration using papers from Paper-Garden.ca

Hi friends, I have one more card to share using the paper packs from Paper-Garden.ca. (Thank you, Maria!)

Mother's Day card 2a

For this one I used an idea that Yana Smakula often uses. (Thank you, Yana!) I created the bouquet using a stamped image from Simon Says Stamp Cone Building stamp set. I stamped the ice cream cone on a piece of light brown cardstock and fussy cut it out. I got this particular set as a part of Instagram giveaway from @glittermesilly . (Thanks so much, Caryn!). Unfortunately this set is now discontinued, but I’m sure any other set with a cone (like this one) can work, may be with a little bit of masking.

When I die cut the flowers for my last card, I had several left-overs… (I went kinda crazy die cutting with all the pretty pretty papers!). I made several flowers with double layers of petals (with a foam square in between) and a sequin in the center.

Next I arranged everything in my MISTI and mounted my stamp on the MIST I door. While I still had the magnets holding my card down, I adhered the leaves on the card using liquid glue. Next I added the cone using foam squares towards the bottom of these leaves. Then I adhered the flowers towards top.

To embellish the cone further, I die cut a purple bow using another Spellbinders die from purple paper and attached it on top. I also added a pearl on top of the bow. #justLikeThat

Finally while everything was still in MISTI, I stamped the sentiment on top of the bouquet and called this card done.
