Love / Wedding card with a peek-through words using Spellbinders – DOM April 2020

Hello everyone, I hope you all are doing good with the whole quarantine thing.

I encourage you to use this time to catch up on your “some-day” lists, at least some items off of it. I encourage you to make time to play with your loved ones, to draw, scribble, write, sing, play a musical instrument, journal, cook, dance, do what you need to do to make yourself realize that all will be okay. Although it may feel like it sometimes, but you are not alone.

And if you are out there helping save lives and keeping things safe for the rest of us, please know that we appreciate all that you are doing. Do take care of yourselves and know that you are our true heroes! We owe a whole lot to you!! And we are sending prayers and good vibes your way!!!

I know Weddings seem like “at-least-not-for-right-now” kinda thing at this moment (because of social distancing with the guests and all), but that does not mean Love is that way too, right? There is a never better time to let that special someone know that you love him/her. And I decided to make this card thinking just that:

As for the way I write this blog post, I am going to take idea from the uber talented Debby (of the Lime Doodle Design). I will write it like a recipe. Do let me know in the comments below about what you think of this way for writing how-tos. Thanks in advance! :)

Key Ingredients

  1. Spellbinders Small Die of the Month April 2020

  2. Even more sentiments – Add on for this month’s Large and Small dies

  3. DCWV 12”x12” Samantha Rose pack

  4. DCWV 12”x12” Rose Quartz

  5. Neenah Dessert Storm

Procedure

  1. Both these dies coordinates with the “Truckin Through the Seasons – Large Die of the Month Club”, but today I decided to use both these dies without the truck. I used a pretty piece of patterned paper and directly die cut three words from it. I skipped the outer layer, because I wanted just the letters to peek through.

  2. Backed up this layer with a piece of patterned paper left over from a previous Spellbinders card kit and added foam tape the the back.

  3. I also trimmed a panel from Neenah Desert Storm cardstock to be slightly smaller than a 5×7 card and added that behind my colored panel.

  4. Finally I die cut all the little pieces from scraps of matching patterned paper, layered them and added a few gems.
