Second card using SSS February 2016 card kit

Hi friends, today I have my second card using this month’s card kit by SSS. In my last card with this kit, I used the negative space of my heart die cut for the window shaker. I used the heart (the positive piece) itself for today’s card. This piece was cut using the largest die from MFT’s stitched hearts stax dies.

I started by stamping the sentiment in black ink and heat embossing it with clear embossing powder on the heart die cut.

I mounted the heart itself with foam tape on a tone-on-tone card base. This card base came from one of StampinUp!’s paper pumpkin kits. I love how the tone-on-tone on this card front adds a little something extra to the design. I think it will be great to prep some card bases with designs like these and have them on hand. What say?

Next I fussy cut a few flowers from one of the patterned papers in the kit and tucked them around the heart. I also used a couple foam squares to lift some of the flowers up. Finally I added a few heart sequins (also from the kit) for embellishment.
