‘Sending Smiles’ April 2021 Release Instagram hop and prizes to be won!

Hi everyone, we are excited to bring you another Instagram Hop + Giveaway today for our latest release “Sending Smiles” :) If you don’t follow me on Instagram, please do so here. I would love to welcome you in our little tribe. We do share lots more inspiration (and entertainment) over there, than we do here on the blog alone. It’s a fun place to be and yes, every month we have giveaways too :)

For today’s hop, I created two cards with our release. Both similar supplies but significantly different looks. Let’s check them out, shall we?

Card 1

Key Ingredients:

  1. For sentiment: Peony Love stamp set

  2. Gansai Tambi watercolor set

  3. Studio 71 watercolor pencils

  4. Prismacolor pencils

Steps:

  1. Use MS PowerPoint to print the image and the sentiment.

  2. I used the desktop version of PowerPoint to get the sentiment with white-on-black. I used the Color option to change the color to the lightest possible option + fill option with black color.

  3. I did lots of layers of coloring on the flowers:

  4. Use water+Studio 71 pencils to watercolor the flowers lightly.

  5. Add details with Gansai Tambi watercolors.

  6. After drying, add more details with Prismacolor pencils. No water this time.

  7. Finally use Studi 71 gray pencil to shade in between and around the arrangement. No water this time either.

  8. Die cut the rectangle using Memory Box Wrapped Stitched rectangle.

  9. Fussy cut the sentiment out.

  10. Assemble with a cardbase, add sequence and call this project done :-)

Card 2

Key Ingredients:

  1. Simon Says Stamp Quilted Hearts background stamp set

  2. Gansai Tambi watercolor set

  3. Studio 71 watercolor pencils

  4. Derwent Inktense pencils

Steps:

  1. Use MS PowerPoint to print the image and the sentiment.

  2. For the image, I made it as light as possible.

  3. I fussy cut the sentiment and used Bother ScanNCut to cut out the image. Very impressed with the scanning and cutting of this machine. Since my image was almost transparent, I wasn’t sure it would recognize and cut it properly, but it did amazingly well.

  4. I did lots of layers of coloring on the flowers here too:

  5. Use water+Studio 71 pencils to watercolor the flowers lightly.

  6. Add details with Gansai Tambi watercolors.

  7. After drying, add more details with Derwent Inktense pencils. No water this time. I usually like to use water with these pencils, but today I just picked them up because I needed the exact color I had in this set.

  8. Use blue cardstock with Simon Says Stamp Blue Violet ink to create a panel as tall as the casebase, but not as wide.

  9. Add gold glitter tape on either side and foam mount the blue panel in the center.

  10. Foam mount the colored image and use multi medium glue to attach the sentiment. Add jewels and call the project done.
