Simon Says Best Days – New Release – Card Inspiration 1

Hello crafty friends, I am here with a beautiful card using some goodies from the latest Simon Says Stamp release – “Best Days”. Today is day 1 of 3. I have 2 more days of inspiration coming your way, so keep watching this space :-)

A huge shout out to SSS for sending me the Big Thanks die set to play with. This is a set of two dies – one ‘Thanks’ word and another outline die for the same. I used these to create a focal point for my card which also doubles up as the sentiment. By cutting the outline twice and offsetting them, I was able to achieve a three step layered look which does not need much additional decoration.

For my cardbase, I used Audrey’s blue cardstock from Simon Says Stamp and made a top folding A2 sized card.

Using the largest die from SSS Stitched Rectangle die set I created a panel using patterned paper. Next, I die cut the outline image twice – once using gold mirrored cardstock and another using the pink patterned paper. I also die cut the word itself using another patterned paper. All these patterned papers (except the gold mirrored cardstock) are from Echo Park’s Summer Dreams collection and they came in one of Simon’s July 2017 card kit.

I assembled the three ‘thanks’ shapes using multi medium matte glue. While adhering the outlines, I offset the pink with the gold. Then on top I attached the ‘thanks’ word itself. Once these were set, I attached all of them together to the die cut rectangle in a way that the last flourish from ‘s’ goes off the edge.

(I’m sorry for the not-so-good lighting on this one, guys. All the rain these days isn’t helping!)

I attached the rectangle to cardbase using foam adhesive for some added dimension. Finally I adhered a few enamel dots and called this card done.

So, this is idea#1 for making something special with your outline word dies. Be sure to visit tomorrow for idea#2 :-)
