Simon Says Best Days – New Release – Card Inspiration 2

Hi friends! Welcome to day 2 of 3 for ideas of how to use the Big Thanks die from Simon Says Stamp “Best Days” release. (You can check out idea#1 here).

Today’s card is special in two ways – (1) it has a ‘thanks’ outline as a window and the sentiment is on the inside of the card (2) the outside panel is covered with a black and white patterned paper where I’ve only partially colored some of the images. I loved playing with both these ideas :-)

To start with this card, I attached a panel of patterned paper to completely cover the front of my white card base. This patterned paper came in the Nov 2017 SSS Card kit and is from Pebbles Heart of Home collection.

After attaching the paper on cardbase, I ran the two together through my Platinum die cutting machine with only the outline die. I made sure to open the card while doing this, so that I did not cut through the whole card. Once the front was die cut, I went in with my yellow and green Polychromos pencils and colored only some of the flowers surrounding the die cut window. Loved this look.

I also cut out the word ‘thanks’ using gold mirrored cardstock and adhered it inside the card in such a way that it is visible though the window. Also, on the inside, I added the sentiment “Your kindness is appreciated”. This sentiment is from SSS Kind Flowers stamp set using black archival ink. I used MISTI to place this sentiment such that it would not show up when the card is closed.

Lastly I attached a gold tape on one side of the card and also added a few tiny gold sequins to complete this card.

Very happy with how this turned out.
