Hi you guys, sorry I was kinda MIA this week but let’s get all the crafty things going again, shall we? This is a gorgeous card, but it is just so hard to photograph. See for yourself :-)
Well, the story behind this is that I have wanted to play with alcohol inks for a long time. But until now, for one reason or another, I did not. So this time with all the beautiful flowers from Simon Says Stamp Delicate Flowers May 2019 card kit and the Alcohol Pearl Inks that came with it, I had to try out something.
These inks work best on slick surfaces like Yupo paper, glossy photo paper and the kit even included a Tim Holtz Alcohol Ink Silver Sparkle Cardstock. But I decided to experiment with Acetate.
I used the Heat Resistant Acetate from Hot Off The Press so I took advantage of it. On one side, I hot foiled my sentiment ‘Birthday Wishes’ and also heat embossed my floral design. These flowers came from the kit and I used them with Simon’s Clear embossing ink + Ultra Fine Gold embossing powder.
On the back of this acetate, I added drops of blending solution and two colors of alcohol inks – Pearl Tranquil ink & Sunshine Yellow ink. Here’s a tiny video – I just went a drop here, a drop there and then move the acetate around to kinda get the inks moving.
To mount all this on a card, I used a glittery blue paper that I die cut twice – once using the largest rectangle from Wrapped Stitched rectangle dies (from Memory Box) and the inside one using largest rectangle from Stitched Rectangle dies from Simon Says Stamp. I used this border to adhere the acetate to a top folding landscape card. A few sequins in gold and blue and this fun card was done.
