Alright, today I have one more card to share using Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Flowers stamp set (and please don’t tell the other cards, but today’s set is probably my most favorite set).
I started by stamping several of the individual flowers on colored cardstock and fussy cutting these out. I did some in Simon Says Stamp Cotton Candy cardstock with Studio G red ink and some others in Simon Says Stamp Lemon cardstock with Simon Says Stamp Duckling ink. I also stamped some leaves from the cluster onto Simon Says Stamp Apple Green cardstock with Simon Says Stamp Apple Green ink and fussy cut those out too. (My only wish from this Beautiful Flowers stamp set is that it should have had some of those gorgeous leaves as stand alone stamps – just like the flowers have corresponding standalone stamps.) When all these were ready, I went to town with making several cards with these beauties.
Card 1 – Flower cluster on dry embossed background:
I created a rectangle panel from and dry embossed it with Tim Holtz Sizzix Birch Texture Fades Embossing Folder. Next I mounted it on a pre-made card in almost-matching colors. On top of this dry embossed panel, I foam mounted my flowers and leaves in a cluster. I also created a banner with sentiment which I stamped using same Studio G ink. This sentiment is from Best Ever stamp set by Simon Says Stamp. A few enamel dots (mostly from Doodlebugs sprinkles sets) completed this card.
Card 2 – Flower cluster on stamped background:
For the next card, I stamped a panel using Stamps Tammy Tutterow Designs Dear Ruby with distress ink —–. I foam mounted another cluster on lower left corner of this panel, added a sentiment (one from Spellbinders card kits) and a few enamel hearts from Doodlebugs sprinkles. I had created this panel originally for some other project and ended up not using it. Once I was happy with the arrangement, I mounted this panel on a coffee / brown colored pre-made card base.
Card 3 – Flower cluster on heat embossed background:
Next up? Just like the panel above, I had created this heat embossed panel for some other project and ended up not using it. This uses the Simon Says Stamp Bohemian Lace background heat embossed with Zing opaque white embossing powder on gray cardstock. After foam mounting my floral cluster in the center of this panel, I sprinkled a few iridescent sequins around and also foam mounted a sentiment “wonderful” on top of the flower cluster. Even this sentiment came from one of Spellbinders card kits.
Card 4 – Flower cluster on patterned paper background – A:
For the next couple cards I used patterned paper panels. On the first one, I used the paper with diagonal paper. This patterned paper came from Simon Says Stamp May 2018 card kit. I die cut and embossed this paper using the largest plain rectangle that comes in Spellbinders Hemstitch rectangle die set. I played with the diagonal pattern on the patterned paper and stamped the outline word “happy” three times diagonally using black archival ink. At the bottom I stamped the word ‘birthday’ completing the sentiment to be “happy happy happy birthday” :-) Flower cluster in matching colors, a few flat confetti and star sequins completed this project.
Card 5 – Flower cluster on patterned paper background – B:
For this one, I used another patterned paper – this one came from one of the Spellbinders card kits. I die cut and embossed this paper using the largest plain rectangle that comes in Spellbinders Hemstitch rectangle die set. I also stamped and gold heat embossed the words – “sending lots of love & hugs your way” in between the painted lines.
On two opposite corners, I foam mounted some flowers and leaves. A generous sprinkling of shiny confetti in matching colors completed this project.
There you have it – lots of ways to create some quick cards and use some of those backgrounds which you have created but not yet used. Hope you give these ideas a try. And do let me know how you liked them.
