Hi guys, after so many days of working on die cut based cards, I am shifting to my old love – watercolors – at least for a little bit. And the perfect companion for this was this month’s Simon Says Stamp – Stronger Together card kit for March 2020.
I started by die cutting a piece of Canson watercolor paper using the largest Memory Box Warped Stitched rectangle die. Then I stamped my images on it using Archival Black ink and my trusted MISTI.
I used Ooku watercolor pens that I had won in a preview giveaway. These watercolor pens have vibrant colors and I do like using them from time to time. For today’s card I used the yellow ones, light green one and the gray one.
After all the stamping, I had an empty area around where the sentiment is. I hand-drew one leaf to fit into that space. When I went over the pencil lines of this leaf with a black gel pen, I was impatient and started coloring it without letting it get completely dried at first. So, obviously it smudged just a bit and made the green color get a hint of gray. I decided to roll with it and added gray + green to the rest of my leaves. :)
Finally I mounted this panel on a black cardbase using some foam tape; stamped-fussy-cut and mounted the sentiment and also added some matching gems around the sentiment to finish it off.
That’s it. Hope you liked this project. If you give it a try, do tag me on social media. I love to see your creations.
